Prices
Prices and items available for sale are subject to change at any time. Prices shown on the purchase pages are exclusive of shipping and handling costs.


Shipping and Handling
Within the UK, shipping and handling costs on purchases made via the Online Sling Shop are as follows:

Purchases under £20: £1.50
Purchases between £20 and £80: £3
Purchases over £80: Free

For any purchase which needs to be posted to a customer following a shopping appointment, shipping and handling is free.

All purchases within the UK are posted by Royal Mail First Class post.

Outside the UK please contact us for a postage and packing quote prior to making your order. We regret that currently insurance restrictions mean that we cannot ship purchases to USA or Canada.


Delivery
Closer to You aims to dispatch all items within 5 working days of receiving cleared payment. Where this is not possible we will contact you and you will be offered a refund if required. Delays may occur due to the Royal Mail delivery service; these are not the responsibility of Closer to You.


Sales
Purchases may be made in person at shopping appointments, workshops, shows or other venues; or via the Online Sling Shop.

Closer to You accepts the following methods of payment:

• Cash – in person sales only
• Cheque (backed by cheque guarantee card) – in person or online sales
• Postal Order – in person or online sales
• Credit card – in person or online sales

PLEASE NOTE: all credit card payments are processed via Paypal. You do not have to have a paypal account but YOU MUST HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS to pay via credit card. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. For in-person sales where you would like to pay via credit card we will issue a Paypal invoice after you have placed the order and then post your purchase to you (shipping and handling is free for all purchases made by placing an order at a consultation).

To complete a purchase from the Online Sling Shop, select the item/s you wish to purchase and click on the 'Add to Basket' button. You may then view your paypal basket by clicking on the 'View Basket' button, and check out using the paypal screen. Your contract with Closer to You begins once you have submitted to Paypal, and had accepted, your payment details. You will receive an email confirming your payment within minutes from Paypal, and will also receive a detailed confirmation email from Closer to You within 24 hours.


Returns, Cancellation, Refunds
If for any reason you decide that your purchase does not suit your requirements you can return it to us. Please inform us by email or telephone that you wish to make a return. Please also complete and include the returns slip included with the original order.

Items returned within 28 days in original condition (unwashed and unused with packaging and instructions complete) will be fully refunded less any postage charge paid from us to you. You may also request an exchange instead of a refund. If you have washed or used the item we may offer a partial refund, depending on the condition of the item (applicable to items returned within 28 days).

In line with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel any order made from the Online Sling Shop within seven working days of the day after the goods are received by you (the 'cooling off' period). Goods must not be washed or used or you will be considered to have accepted them and you will not be able to cancel the order. If you wish to cancel the order you must return all goods, instructions and packaging to us.

In the case of faulty or damaged items you must return them to us within 14 days of receipt for a full refund including any postage costs from us to you and from you to us. In the case of damage which has occurred during delivery, please return all external packaging to enable us to make a claim from Royal Mail.

Safety information
When using a cloth baby sling the safety of any child carried in it is your responsibility at all times. Ensure that you understand how to use your sling correctly: if you are in doubt, consult the instructions provided, check the manufacturer's website or book a follow up appointment.

Some safety issues to consider when carrying your baby or child are:

• check the structural integrity of your sling before every use, in particular ensure seams and other sewn areas are intact and secure
• your baby's head or other body part may stick out further than you realise, ensure you have enough space to pass obstacles
• ensure that your baby or child has clear access to air at all times: ensure that their chin is not pushed against their chest (particularly for newborns); do not place any material over a baby or child's face; ensure your baby or child does not have their mouth and nose completely pressed against the carrying adult
• make sure that the position you are carrying your baby in is appropriate for their age and stage of development (for example, head control is necessary for hip carries)
• when you first try out any unfamiliar carrier or new type of carry, practice getting your baby or child in and out of it over a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, or have another adult on hand to assist you
• support your baby or child if you bend over whilst carrying them in a sling: most slings will hold your baby or child secure whilst you bend but holding them with a hand ensures they cannot slip out of the sling
• dress your baby or child appropriately for the weather conditions and the chosen sling: remember that your sling counts as at least one layer of clothing for your child, so in warm weather you will want to reduce their amount of clothing. In cold weather you may consider wearing a coat that can be placed over both you and your child to share body warmth; ensure that your child has clear access to air if the coat is zipped up around them

Privacy
Closer to You will never pass on your details to any other organisation. Credit card details are not viewed or held by Closer to You, they are processed entirely by Paypal. Your name, address and email address will be held on file where you have allowed us to do this, and will be used to a) process your order and b) update you with future information about Closer to You where you have indicated you would like to receive such information.

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter we will contact you occasionally with information on new stock or lines, sales or other information we feel may be of use to you. You can unsubscribe from the email at any time using the link at the bottom of each issue.


Legal information
When buying goods on the internet the consumer is entering a legally binding contract, UK law is the applicable law for all transactions. Items available for sale are subject to change at any time without notice. We make every effort to describe items accurately and to display accurate pictures, however we rely on manufacturer information and computer displays vary, so slight variations may occur.
